Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country, which may be up to 16 in some EU member states) and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Account Registration

• •You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
• •You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• •You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
• •You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
• •We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Description of Service

PREPEUR is a test-taking environment in which the exam you sit is built from your own material. The Service allows you to:

• •Upload your own materials (PDF, DOCX, PPTX) including textbooks, lecture slides, notes, and past papers
• •Declare what you are preparing for, with a date, and confirm the scope it is drawn from
• •Generate questions (multiple choice, true/false, and open-ended) verified against those materials
• •Import questions from past papers, with each question verified against your materials before it becomes available
• •Practise independently, or sit full-length mock exams under exam conditions
• •Receive AI-graded feedback on open-ended answers with source-cited explanations
• •See your readiness measured against the scope you confirmed

3.1 Document Processing

Files uploaded in DOCX or PPTX format are automatically converted to PDF for processing. The original file is not retained after conversion, so keep your own copies. Download is available for the PDF version only. PREPEUR does not guarantee pixel-perfect conversion fidelity.

3.2 Service Availability and Changes

We are continually improving the Service. Features may change over time, and we may add, remove, or modify functionality. We may also suspend or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part), including specific features, with reasonable notice when practicable.

3.3 Evolving Service

PREPEUR is actively developed. Capabilities are added over time and become available to you at no additional cost within your existing plan. We do not advertise or guarantee delivery dates for capabilities that have not shipped.

4. Subscription and Billing

4.1 Plans and Pricing

We offer a free plan and paid plans. Plans differ by how much of the Service you may use, not by which capabilities you may use. Current plan names, prices and billing periods are on our pricing section. Prices are displayed in EUR and are subject to change with reasonable notice.

4.2 Billing

• •Paid subscriptions are billed in advance for the period you selected.
• •Payment is processed securely through Stripe. We accept major credit cards.
• •Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• •You can manage your subscription and view billing history in your account settings.

4.3 Refunds

EU/EEA Consumers: If you are a consumer in the European Union or European Economic Area, you generally have a legal right to withdraw from a subscription purchase within 14 days of the date the contract is concluded, unless an exception applies. To exercise this right, email us at team@prepeur.com within the 14-day period stating that you wish to withdraw; you may, but are not required to, use the model withdrawal form provided under the EU Consumer Rights Directive. If you requested that the Service start immediately during the withdrawal period, we may, where permitted by law, deduct a proportionate amount for the part of the Service provided up to the time you withdraw.

After the withdrawal period: Subscription fees are non-refundable. All billing periods are treated identically: cancellation stops auto-renewal, and your subscription remains active until the end of the period you have paid for. No partial refunds are issued.

If you experience technical issues that prevent you from using the Service, please contact us at team@prepeur.com, and we will work with you to find a fair resolution.

4.4 Plan Changes

• •Upgrades: When you upgrade, the higher allowance applies immediately. You will be charged the prorated difference for the current billing period.
• •Downgrades: When you downgrade, the change takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No data is deleted, and no capability is removed: your allowance adjusts to the new plan.

4.5 Fair Use and Service Integrity

Every plan is designed for one person's own preparation. To ensure service quality for all users and protect our infrastructure, the following fair use principles apply:

• •Personal Use Only: Your subscription is for your individual use. Sharing account credentials, automated access, or using the Service to provide question generation or assessment services to others is prohibited.
• •Reasonable Usage: Usage patterns that significantly exceed typical behavior, such as continuous automated requests or bulk extraction, may result in temporarily slower processing times.
• •System Protection: During periods of high demand, requests may be queued to maintain service quality. Paid subscribers receive priority processing over free tier users.
• •Transparency: If your usage triggers fair use protections, you will be notified with a clear explanation. We will work with you to resolve any legitimate concerns.

This fair use policy keeps the Service sustainable and consistent in quality for everyone. See also Section 6 (Acceptable Use Policy).

5. User Content and Ownership

5.1 Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to the documents you upload to the Service ("User Content"). You are responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to upload and process any content.

5.2 Generated Content

Material generated by PREPEUR from your documents ("Generated Content"), which covers questions, assessment results, AI grading feedback and readiness data, is owned by you. You may use, modify, and share your Generated Content for any lawful purpose.

5.3 License to PREPEUR

By using the Service, you grant PREPEUR a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to:

• •Process your User Content to provide the Service (generating practice questions, grading answers, providing source-cited feedback, and tracking exam readiness)
• •Store your content on our servers and third-party infrastructure
• •Use anonymized and aggregated usage data to improve the Service

We do not use your documents or generated content to train AI models except as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your content to third parties.

5.4 Copyright Complaints

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please contact us at team@prepeur.com with enough information for us to investigate (for example, a description of the work, the location on the Service, your contact information, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized). We may remove or disable access to the reported content and, where appropriate, take action against repeat infringers.

6. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to:

• •Upload content you do not have the right to use or share
• •Upload illegal, harmful, or offensive content
• •Share your account credentials with others
• •Attempt to circumvent usage limits or security measures
• •Use automated tools to scrape or bulk-download content
• •Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service
• •Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• •Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• •Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

Violation of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, code, documentation, and PREPEUR branding, is owned by PREPEUR OÜ and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use our trademarks, logos, or brand elements.

9. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

PREPEUR provides source citations with generated questions and AI grading feedback to support deeper understanding, allowing you to return to the original material when you want to expand your understanding of a topic. Citations may be incomplete or imprecise. We are not responsible for any consequences resulting from reliance on AI-generated content.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• •The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
• •We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
• •We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
• •Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €100, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PREPEUR, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

• •Your use of the Service
• •Your violation of these Terms
• •Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
• •Content you upload to the Service

12. Termination

12.1 By You

You may delete your account at any time through the account settings. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed as described in our Privacy Policy.

12.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to the Service, other users, or PREPEUR. We will attempt to notify you before termination when reasonably possible.

12.3 Inactive Accounts

We may close accounts that have been inactive for an extended period (for example, no login activity for approximately two years). Where reasonably possible, we will attempt to notify you using the email address associated with your account before closing it.

12.4 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive (such as Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law) will continue to apply.

We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• •Updating the "Last updated" date
• •Sending you an email notification for significant changes

Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you should stop using the Service.

15. Miscellaneous

15.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PREPEUR regarding the Service.

15.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

15.3 No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

15.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
